First performed in the summer of 1972, THE FARM SHOW has legendary status as one of the greatest and most original of all Canadian plays. Its first director, Paul Thompson, relates: “This play is a record of our “grass roots” theatre .Our idea was to take a group of actors to a farming community and build a play form what we could see and learn…It developed out of interviews, visits, and improvisations. Most of the words were given to us by the community, along with their stories. We wanted to capture the fibre of what they were.”
